Education:

I graduated from Iowa State University in 2008 with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I then completed my master’s degree in criminology at Indiana State University. Finally, I attended the University of Cincinnati’s PhD program in Criminal Justice, where I finished ABD (all but dissertation). I accrued multiple publications, book chapters, academic journal and book reviews, appeared in dozens of media interviews, and a substantial number of academic, government, and private presentations. The bulk of my academic experience has focused on merging technology and crime by bridging the often divergent areas of academia and field work in criminal justice. 

Previous Experience:

Probation Officer for The Nebraska Supreme Court with over a thousand hours of court experience. Sat on State of Nebraska Board of Technology in Corrections. Member of the Cincinnati Bell & FBI Digital Forensics Workgroup. Consulted on state and federal tech cases. Assistant Professor and Instructor at Indiana State University where I helped lead the creation of a new major bridging technology and crime. Served on the State of Indiana’s Governot’s Council for Cybersecurity. Sworn investigator and co-creator of the High-Tech Crime Unit in Vigo County, Indiana where I worked on cases including robbery, arson, homicide, and child exploitation. I have assisted with multiple trial presentations offering compelling audio and visuals for juries that accentuate the most important details. I have also had the incredible opportunity to assist on multiple cold cases helping to bring answers to survivors and/or their families using modern technology with older evidence (example: evidence featured in this Vice Documentary.
